The Sunday tech-support call
Half of every phone call is spent asking them to describe what's on the screen.
For sons, daughters and families
If every visit home turns into fixing the iPad, or Sunday phone calls are spent talking your parents through their settings, let me take it on. I'll be the friendly local person your parents can call, and I'll keep you in the loop.
Half of every phone call is spent asking them to describe what's on the screen.
You can't pop round to fix the printer when you're an hour or more up the road.
They're trusting and polite, and scammers know it. You'd like someone keeping an eye out.
It's been in the box since Christmas. They'd love to use it, if only someone would set it up and show them how.
NHS App, repeat prescriptions, online banking. Things they now need, whether they like it or not.
So small problems pile up until something important stops working.
Choose the help that suits
Sort out a single problem, or give your parent someone to call whenever they need it. You can book and pay on their behalf.
£45 an hour
For a single problem, or to try me out first. Free diagnosis, and no fix, no fee. Or choose remote help from £25.
Best for: a new phone or tablet to set up, a computer that's playing up, or a one-off scam worry.
Most popular with families
£29/month
Or £39/month to cover two people in the same home. Cancel with one month's notice.
Best for: parents who'd like a regular, trusted person to ask, without ringing you every time.
How it works
Fill in the form or give me a ring. I'll chat about what they need and which option suits best.
I call them, introduce myself and book a time that suits them. You can be there or on the phone if you'd like.
After each session I send you a short note of what I did and anything to keep an eye on, if they're happy for me to.
Your parents will deal with me, Ryan, a local person with more than 25 years in IT, and not a call centre. I'm patient, I explain everything in plain English, and I never sell anything they don't need.
Questions
Yes. Many of the families I help live elsewhere in the UK. You book and pay, and I deal with your parent locally. If they're outside my area, remote help works anywhere.
I'd always recommend you mention it first, so a call from me isn't a surprise. I'll introduce myself clearly and they can ring you to check.
A short, plain-English note: what I helped with, anything I'd suggest, and anything to keep an eye on. I only share it if your parent agrees.
No long contract. It rolls on month to month and you can cancel with one month's notice.
On the plan, home visits cost £35 an hour instead of £45. I'll always agree it with you, or with them, first.
Yes. A welcome visit or a few months of the plan makes a thoughtful birthday or Christmas present, especially alongside a new device. Get in touch and I'll arrange it.
Arranging help for someone else
Fill in your details and theirs. I'll call you first to talk it through, then contact your parent directly to arrange a time that suits them.
Nothing is booked or charged until you've spoken to me.
